How Broadband Phone Works

With iConnectHere Broadband Phone service, use your Broadband connection like a phone and enjoy great benefits.

All you need is Broadband device that connects directly to your Internet Broadband connection or home network. You can connect any regular phone, even a cordless phone with the Cisco ATA or plug the Grandstream IP phone directly to your Broadband Internet connection. The Cisco ATA and Grandstream are plug & play when you buy them directly from iConnectHere during sign up. You may also use another certified SIP device.

A Router is required when sharing your internet connection with your PC. Routers are not sold through iConnectHere and are generally available from most retail stores.

Call Waiting Call waiting may be enabled or disabled at any time.	√


Caller ID The phone number of the person calling you is displayed on the Grandstream phone. CallerID also works with the ATA if you have a separate caller ID box. Please note that Caller ID may not work in certain regions due to carriers in those areas that do not support Caller ID.	√	√

Caller ID Block To block your identity when making a call press *67. This feature is available on a call-by-call basis and is enabled by default.	√

Virtual Calling Card A virtual calling card is included with your Broadband Phone account so that you can make calls when you are away from the home or office.We have toll-free access numbers in 28 countries. To use the virtual calling card, dial one of our toll-free access numbers. Enter your account number followed by your 4 digit password. You will need to use the dialing format of Country Code + Area Code + Number	√	√

Cordless Phone Connect any analog phone to the ATA - including a cordless phone.	√

Direct digital connection Broadband Phone connects directly to your Broadband Internet connection (Ethernet connection to your modem or router). You do not need to have you computer on to make and receive calls.	√	√

Easy Set-up No technical knowledge required to set up Broadband Phone.	√	√

Fax You may connect a fax machine to either port of the ATA in order to send and receive a fax. All our calling plans work with fax. To send a fax dial, *99 and then dial the fax number. Press send on your fax machine when you hear the fax tone. To receive a fax, use your Broadband Phone telephone number as your fax number. The Cisco ATA needs to be configured for codec G711 on your ATA configuration page. Please go to iconnecthere.com/ata for details on how to adjust your ATA configuration page.	√

Real-time call records See your call records instantly on the web. You can view your Call Records for the past three months directly through the Members Center, by selecting the 'Call Records' menu from the Navigation Bar on your screen.	√	√

Redial button Included with the Grandstream phone.		√

Repeat Dialing (ATA only) Call a busy number repeatedly at periodic intervals for a specific length of time. Repeat dialing tries the busy number for up to 30 minutes and is then automatically switched off unless the called party's phone rings. This feature in automatically enabled if you bought your ATA directly from iConnectHere. To use this feature, press 5 after you hear the busy tone. You will then get a beep confirmation followed by silence. When you hang up, your Cisco ATA will start redialing. When the called party rings, you are notified with a special ring. You can continue using the phone while the feature is active. Please note that Repeat Dialing may not be available in some areas. If you bought the ATA from another store, you may enable this feature by adding the following to the Callcmd field on your ATA configuration page:";H#37#;kA;S5;jA;". Soft-client A soft-client is not necessary to make Broadband Phone calls. Some customers find it useful to use their Broadband Phone account to make PC-to-phone calls with our free PCPhone software. Great to use with any computer or laptop when you are away from the home or office. All you need to do is download our free PCPhone software to be used on any computer or laptop. Speakerphone Included with the Grandstream phone.		√

Telephone Number Portability Your telephone number is not limited by where you live. For example, receive calls to your New York telephone number even if you live in Madrid (or anywhere in the world) - take your number with you when you travel or move!	√	√

Telephone number selection Select the country and area code for your telephone number. Get a US, UK or Israel number no matter where you live in the world.	√	√

2 Telephone lines The ATA supports up to two phone lines. Each line may have its own calling plan and telephone number.	√

Voicemail Access messages from any phone or the web. You may retrieve voicemail message very easily from the phone or from the Internet. To hear your messages from any phone, dial your Broadband Phone telephone number, then press # and then your 4-digit password. To hear your messages from the web, login to Member Center.	√	√
